Current Construction Activities at InfraTec

After Completion of the Exterior Facade, the Interior Work Can Now Begin

InfraTec's largest investment project to date at the Dresden site continues to take shape. Following the topping-out ceremony in December 2022, the exterior facade of the new building has now been completed and the outdoor area will also soon be taking on form. The new outdoor area will include a table tennis table for sports activities and additional bicycle parking spaces. Currently, work is being carried out on the interior design of the extension complex, and the height-adjustable desks and ergonomic office chairs to support a healthy way of working have already been ordered. To make the daily walk to coffee and tea as convenient as possible, there will be a large break room with several seating options and a kitchen, as well as generously equipped coffee kitchens on each floor.

With an investment of 20 million euros, this new building is the largest construction project to date and a clear commitment to the company headquarters and production site in Dresden. Back in 2018 – after 25 years of being based here – InfraTec acquired its own property at the southern site of the TechnologieZentrumDresden. This was significantly expanded with the construction of a new clean room and office wing for the Sensor Technology division at the end of 2020.

Energy-Efficient and Environmentally Conscious

The aim of constructing an energy-efficient building in accordance with the KfW55 standard was already the focus during the planning of the extension complex. Supported by certified energy efficiency experts, numerous measures were planned to improve the energy balance of the company building: These include, for example, triple-glazed windows, increased thermal insulation of the roof and facade and a photovoltaic system with an output of 100 kWp to supply the clean room with green energy.*

More Space for Production, Development and Employees

Spacious production and development areas for infrared cameras and pyroelectric detectors as well as generously designed office space and staff rooms are being created on a total area of 2,700 m². The new building thus paves the way for an optimised production structure and higher production capacities. The expansion is also a basis for meeting the increasing demand for InfraTec products, almost 70 % of which are exported worldwide.

* The project is supported by the Sächsische Aufbaubank from the funds of the "Improvement of the regional economic structure" funding programme.
