InfraTec Receives Certification According to the Environmental Management System Standard ISO 14001

At the end of 2025, TÜV Rheinland auditors were frequently present at the Dresden headquarters of InfraTec GmbH Infrarotsensorik und Messtechnik: On the one hand, the three-year recertification according to ISO 9001 was due. The globally recognized standard defines how a quality management system (QMS) can be established, implemented, maintained, and continuously improved. On the other hand, the company sought certification of its environmental management system according to ISO 14001 for the first time – with success!

Dr. Christoph Vedder, Head of Quality Management at InfraTec, is delighted with the successful certifications: “Quality management according to ISO 9001 has been an integral part of our daily work since 2010. The introduction of the environmental management system, on the other hand, was a completely new task—and we are particularly proud that we were able to convince the TÜV auditors with our solutions.”

The certified environmental management system requires InfraTec to meet specific environmental targets to continuously contribute to greater sustainability and reduced environmental impact. In addition, the ISO standard also affects resource control and the associated expenses. Among other things, the consumption of energy and water, material use and loss, waste quantities, and the costs of disposal are monitored.

Compliance with the globally recognized ISO 14001 standard is also a clear signal to customers, all partners, and society that the company is committed to sustainability. In the sensor technology business unit, which produces detectors as components for measuring instruments, among other things, as well as in infrared measurement for the integration of thermography systems into industrial processes, InfraTec secures a competitive advantage with its environmental certification. This is because ISO 14001 is considered an important criterion in the supplier selection process for an increasing number of tenders. Many companies are also preparing their own sustainability reports – in this context, the certificate serves as direct evidence of systematic environmental management at the supplier level.
