Complex electronic assemblies are becoming increasingly powerful and compact. As a result, the individual components are moving closer together. The heat generated during operation must therefore be dissipated efficiently to avoid undesirable interactions.
Micro-thermography allows the thermal analysis of extremely fine structures on a micrometer (μm) scale. The detailed visualization of the temperature distribution across components is used to improve heat dissipation. Through targeted thermal management, electronic assemblies can be optimized to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and longevity.
For micro-thermographic analyses, InfraTec thermal imaging cameras can be equipped with microscope lenses of varying magnifications. In combination with an 8x microscope, the cameras of the ImageIR® series can resolve details as small as 2 μm and reliably detect hotspots, even at very short integration times.
The basic modular design of InfraTec cameras, consisting of optical, detector, and interface module, allows for excellent adaptation to specific applications. An integrated trigger interface guarantees high-precision, repeatable image triggering and synchronization with external devices, even during very fast processes.
